Our products are used by individuals, small businesses, and up to large enterprises that serve millions of customers. We differentiate our products not just through better engineering, but by creating a rich ecosystem of applications built exclusively for our devices.

Synology also creates dedicated surveillance and networking solutions that leverage our experience from the storage industry. We recently also built from scratch our very own, C2 Backup public cloud solution for our existing users to have a cost effective and reliable backup target.

Job Description

At Synology, we put our users first. Your role involves a great deal of collaboration between engineering, design, and management teams. The Product Management Team works closely with our engineering team to guide products from conception to release. You will bridge the technical and business worlds together as you design products that our users love. You will identify and address user requirements, help define a product vision and strategy, and work with engineers to execute on those plans.

You will:
- Define and maintain product specifications for our NAS and IP SAN products throughout their development and production cycles
- Coordinate and monitor new product development status, ensuring that all tasks are done in a timely manner to meet product launch schedules
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure the final product works seamlessly with our software and cloud services
- Manage outsourcing projects, including vendor briefing, supplier selection, qualification, and price negotiation
- Work closely with suppliers, engineering teams, and testing teams on custom product requirements to ensure new products are launched on schedule
- Track new technology development for assigned products/suppliers. Conduct market analysis, search for qualified suppliers, and align suppliers’ roadmaps with ours
- Continue to monitor and work with suppliers to ensure supply continuity, quality improvement, and cost optimization
- Manage the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) and define the testing policy. Sync with strategic partners for testing targets and coordinate internal testing resources

- 2 years of IT hardware product management or related experience
- Experience in product management or product design with a focus on PC, servers, notebook, hard drives/SSDs or other storage technologies
- Experience in building or using multi-drive storage devices/enclosures, such as FreeNAS DIY boxes, Thunderbolt DAS units, or other NAS or SAN devices

We're targeting candidates with:
- A meticulously organized individual who can take responsibility in managing tasks at hands
